Vincenzo Mattei
Born November 1, 1973 in Civitavecchia – Rome. Italy
Degree in Political Science at the University of Rome La Sapienza in International Law (1998).
Currently living in Cairo since October 30, 2006.
Collaborates with the newspaper Il Manifesto since March 2011 to artistic supplement Alias interviewing local artists, analyzing their work and the Egyptian Revolution.
Published the novel ”L’altro” (The other) with Prospettiva publishing house (2009).
Written two other novels and two travel diaries yet to be published.
He speaks and writes fluent English, Arabic and Spanish.
Egypt has helped me to mature my writing, refining it through an analysis of what was happening around me, from there came the desire to express my thoughts and share with others through this blog, where you can find articles / interviews published by Il Manifesto, as long as extract from my books, published (“The Other”) and not (an excerpt from “The train to lose”), and two short stories of my travel experiences: Sicilian Days and Meddle Eastern Impressions (both available on the website).
